Stochastic Processes and Interacting Particle Systems: duality, metastability and their applications is a three years research program in Mathematics and Statistical Mechanics.

icon_firb It is financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) within the Futuro in Ricerca (FIRB) program, grant n. RBFR10N90W.

icon_wrench The goal of the project is to study physical phenomena (e.g. heat conduction) using mathematical models (e.g. interacting particle systems) and probabilistic techniques (e.g. duality). For an extended description of the themes see here. The general aim is to achieve a rigorous description of complex systems with a mathematical statistical physics approach.
