Stochastic Processes and Interacting Particle Systems: duality, metastability and their applications is a three years research program in Mathematics and Statistical Mechanics.
|It is financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) within the Futuro in Ricerca (FIRB) program, grant n. RBFR10N90W.
|The goal of the project is to study physical phenomena (e.g. heat conduction) using mathematical models (e.g. interacting particle systems) and probabilistic techniques (e.g. duality). For an extended description of the themes see here. The general aim is to achieve a rigorous description of complex systems with a mathematical statistical physics approach.
|The program started March 8th, 2012 and it will run for four years. The principal investigator and contact person is Cristian Giardina'. For a descriprion of the research team see here.|
